Define - Duplicate

We always hear about creating models and successful duplication of these models... that's how business works. An often quoted example is excellant success of various franchise. Mac D', CCD, Barista, Star Bucks etc. There could be debate on whether they are best in their industry for their products - but there cannot be the debate that they are successful in 'duplicating' a successful model.

When I was thinking on what exactly we want to duplicate ? I thought - let me validate what I understand what duplication is, and what duplication is NOT.

Duplication for me is - I should be able to create what i learned ( for others ) .... may be in less time and more efficiently.
If we have managed to stabalize business at a certain volume, I should be able to help somebody else who is willing to atleast reach the same business volume. If I can do it multiple times it can be a reflection of whether I am able to create a model which can be used as a PATTERN to create more CASTINGS. So I will always be interested in making my PATTERN better, and will be "genuinely interested" in the people who are willing to trust us with their life.

Duplication has one short coming ( if not understood correctly). When people are not genuinely interested / passionate about others and envision success of others - it can be risky. I am not able to think in better terms right now ! but may be one has to transition from I to THEM.

Instead of "My .... business level", when I think in my heart about "Their .... business level" then it is a model worth duplicating and I am hopeful that we are moving on the right direction.
